The Levels of Stress and Physical Activities with the Menstrual Cycle
Abstract
Teenagers always complain when menstruation occurs. This will make you uncomfortable, sick or not even concentrating in class activities. Most of the young women do not go to school because they are not able to hold the pain when menstruation comes. Many effects of menstruation on young women include stress and physical activity is disrupted, causing irregular menstruation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of stress and physical activity with the menstrual cycle in SMA Negeri 1 Losari. Research methods using quantitative cross sectional design. The population is all young women in SMA Negeri 1 Losari totaling 390 students. Sampling with stratified random sampling technique in class X, XI, XII majoring in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences totaled 80 students. Data collection instruments in the form of a questionnaire that has been declared valid and reliable. The results showed the menstrual cycle in SMA Negeri 1 Losari students was mostly in the category of abnormal menstrual cycles. In the majority of students experiencing severe stress. The physical activities of the Losari 1 High School students were mostly in the moderate activity category. The conclusion is that there is a stress relationship with the menstrual cycle on the side of SMA Negeri 1 Losari (pvalue = 0,000). There is a relationship of physical activity with the menstrual cycle in young women in SMA Negeri 1 Losari (pvalue = 0,000).
