The Influence of the Android-Based Sidimes Application on Mother Toddlers Knowledge about Stunting

Abstract

The incidence of short children or commonly known as stunting is one of the nutritional problems experienced by toddlers in the world today. In 2017 22.2% or around 150.8 million children under five in the world were stunted. Indonesia has conducted Nutritional Status Monitoring for the last three years, stunting has the highest prevalence compared to other nutritional problems. Several studies stated that the incidence of stunting was caused by the lack of knowledge of mothers under five about stunting, while other research results also stated that several educational methods could be carried out effectively on an Android basis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Android-Based Sidimes Application on Mother Toddler's Knowledge of Stunting. Methods: This research was conducted in the work area of ​​the Singotrunan Community Health Center, Banyuwangi Regency from the beginning of June to the end of October 2020 using the pre and post test Quasy Experiment with group control and using the independent t test. The population is all mothers who have toddlers. Sampling with stratified random sampling technique 61 respondents consisting of 31 interventions and 30 controls. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire that was declared valid and reliable. The results showed that after administering the SIDIMES application, knowledge of mothers under five increased with p = 0.00. The conclusion is that the results of the study indicate that there is an effect of the SIDIMES application on the knowledge of mothers of toddlers.
