Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is an indicator of the Healthy Indonesia Program through the Family Approach. Out of 100 delivering mothers, only two had low milk production. Several ways to increase the production of breast milk are the oxytocin massage and the marmet technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in breast milk production after a combination of oxytocin massage and marmet technique. This study used a Quasy-Experiment, with a time series approach. The subjects of this study were 42 post partum mothers with a control group of  21 respondents and a intervention group of  21 respondents. The study was conducted in July from July to Agustus, at RSUD Ungaran. The subjects were determined through consecutive sampling. The data were analyzed using the Friedman test. Respondents were given an explanation prior to the study. Researchers ensured the confidentiality of respondents from the beginning to the end of the study. Based on the results, after the treatment was carried out at 2 hours post partum, the mothers experienced a 300% increase of breast milk production, at 16 hours post partum increased 251% breast milk production, and at 24 hours post partum, increased 207% breast milk production. It can be concluded that the combination of oxytocin massage and marmet technique increased the breast milk production of post partum mothers. It is hoped that health workers can carry out alternative treatments in increasing breast milk production of post partum mothers.
